Sitting all by himself!

Baby E has been working pretty hard with sitting up by himself and today he has done it!

He has been sitting up with help for a couple of months now but he has been slowly getting more stronger and putting out his hands to steady himself and today we popped him down on the floor and there he was - sitting quite the thing! He did have a bit of a shaky moment when he almost lost it, but recovered by himself!
I feel now he is becoming so much more independant that I have lost my little baby boy who would cuddle and sleep in my arms. He now wants to be constantly on the move, it's either on the floor playing with his toys or having a roll around. He never is one to sit at peace - that is unless Mickey Mouse is on of course!
I understand he is growing up, and he does snuggle in when he is sleepy but I don't think I was ready for it to happen so quickly!
Ah, it makes me so emotional thinking of how much he is changing and becoming my little boy and not my baby. I'm so excited for all the new things we are going to do and all the milestones we surpass but in my heart I still want him to be my 1 week old baby again! He's growing up way too fast for my liking!

Great, here comes the waterworks...!

  1. Oh what a lovely milestone - well done Elliott! He looks very pleased with himself in the photo. Can completely relate to it being a very bittersweet moment for you though - these little ones do grow up too quickly sometimes. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could press a pause button sometimes and just enjoy the moments a little longer x
