What's sleep again?

The one thing everyone kept on telling us was that we were lucky to have a baby that slept right throughout the night.
We sort of took it for granted as Baby E has never been a bad sleeper even when he was born only getting up at 1am and 4am which I thought was really good considering I know people that had newborns around the time we had Baby E and they were constantly saying that their babies never slept.

Baby E slept through the night at 8weeks, I was always in the mindset that when he would sleep through the night we would move him from his Moses basket to his cot bed in his own room.
We eventually did it about about 13 weeks and he took to it like a duck to water and slept even longer in the mornings!

That was until 3 weeks ago... My once sleeping through the night baby has now turned into a baby that is getting up 3/4 times a night - sometimes hourly!
It is a massive shock to the system!

The thing is his routine has not changed in the slightest and he has the same amount of naps for maybe half an hour to and hour twice a day and is bedded by 7pm! I can't even keep him up longer as he is zonked.

It's just at night time that he's grumpy and crying I have refrained from giving him milk at night as he's not needing it, he's so tired and rubs his eyes constantly - while crying!
I've looked into this sleep regression and I really hope it's not the 6 month one as he is just coming up 5 and a half months!  Apparently they go through it at about 12 weeks or something and Baby E never. The other thing may be a growth spurt but as he has gone through many of them and they've never seem to bother him I'm putting it down to teething!

I really, really hope this is just a phase and he will quickly go back to being my sleeping from 7pm - 9am baby!

Have you any tips or has your baby gone through the same? I'd love to know and I'll try anything!

  1. Oh, I really feel for you! I'm sure it's just a phase he's going through :) I'm not a parent but I've been having trouble sleeping through the night myself recently and the lack of a good night's sleep is really starting to make me feel super tired all the time!
