New Reads!

Our house slightly resembles a library just now. Elliott is really into his books just now. We read about 8 books a day, sometimes the same one twice...

He brings us a book he wants us to read to him, clambers up on our knee and cuddles in ready for a story. It is honestly the cutest thing ever.
I was a little book worm when I was little so I really do want him to grown up loving books as much as I did.

This month we are seeing these three books feature more and more regularly. I am pretty sure I know all the words of What The Lady Bird Heard - and it's got a good amount of words! haha!

We always have the TV on in the background and many times he stops and watches whatever is on, he has taken a liking to Doc McStuffins and has a little boogie when the music starts to play so when I saw Engine Nine, Feelin' Fine in our local Home Bargains I snapped it up! It's a good story which an episode as been made from (I'm unsure what came first, the episode or the book...) If you're not familiar with Doc she's a Doctor who can speak to toys and fixes the broken ones! Each episode has a helpful tip, this book covers dehydration, with a fire engine not being able to put out a fire because he has no water in his spout. Elliott really like this book, I think its mainly because he recognises them from the TV!

The next is What The Lady Bird Heard. A great book about all these animals making lots of noises and the ladybird not making a peep until it over hears two burglars wanting to get their hands on the fine prize cow! I think Elliott like this because you have to make the noise of each animal! He has mastered Moo, Oink and Quack! The graphics in this book is amazing and there is a glittery ladybird on each page which Elliott loves to trace his finger over ever page to find!

Lastly a classic book, Three Little Pigs! Like I said above he has mastered the Oink, so every time he sees a pig (which is on every page in this book!) he has to oink! Very cute! The pages on this book are hard cardboard which is ideal as he does like to tear pages!

What books have you're little ones been loving?

  5. So sweet. My little man brings me books, but usually wanders off when I start reading. Hopefully he will start stopping to listen soon. My daughter is obsessed with Julia Donaldson, mainly A Squash and a Squeeze and the Gruffalo. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to read them; I know them both by heart. #justanotherlinky
