Beets BLU Key Finder - A Review!

Picture this scenario, you've got yourself ready, you've got small child ready and you've to be out the door in 5 minutes otherwise you will be late for your appointment (which you've had to reschedule twice!) but whats that... your keys are not where you left them. Worse still, you search the house from top to bottom pushing crying small child to the side, but nope. They seem to have vanished off the face of the earth - oh and now I'm 15 minutes late from my appointment!

Yup, this happened to me a couple of weeks back.
Elliott has always liked playing with keys. We don't tend to give them to him unless we are out and hes unsettled. A couple of times now we have been in the house and in walks Elliott with our house or car keys jangling in his hands. We do take them off him and place them back on the high window sill (which we have no idea how he can reach considering he has to climb over things in front of it - kids!)

But twice now we have lost the keys, and we know Elliott has taken them without us knowing and hiding/dropping them! Usually finding them after scouring the entire house!

When Beets BLU got in contact and offered us the change to review the Key Finder (£18.95) I quickly agreed in hope that we will never be in that situation again. After the Key Finder coming super quick via the mail man I opened up the packet to find a small, slim black key fob. The Key Finder is a wireless key fob which works with an application you download to your phone called PaperTag. It allows you to track the pager via the app on your mobile phone. It can help you to track your valuables and detect where lost or forgotten items are. The Pager Tag will also alert you when your item is outside of a certain range, via sound and LED lights. It can track location, and it also has an alarm which can be triggered to sound from the Beets Blu app.

After downloading the app, I connected it with my iPhone with the key fob and had a play around with the settings, you can do so much on the app from playing and stopping music to taking a photo! We popped the Key Finder on our car keys - which are the things we loose regularly! Like I said above the key fob is really small and slim so didn't make our keys look too bulky or not managing to fit in our pockets! You can attach the key fob to anything you tend to misplace really, pop it on your handbag or you can even attach it to your pets collar (your child is optional!) and find them all with ease!

If you do happen to loose your valuables, all you have to do is open the app on your mobile phone and sound the alarm. The Key Finder will then beep pretty loudly until you've located it. There is a small button on the key fob which stops the beeping! You can only sync one smart phone with the key fob at any one time, which wasn't an issue as it was always connected to my phone, but if you 'forget' the device another one can be connected!

We really liked using The Key Finder until we noticed our mobile phone batteries were dying rather quickly this was due to the app constantly running and draining our battery life, It wasn't so much of an issue as I charge my phone daily but you can shut down your apps and sync it back up later on!

With this little godsend our keys can be found in a second after Elliott has decided to take them for a little walk! It has saved us a repeat of the above scenario that's for sure!

So if you are one to loose things on a daily basis this is for you! You can purchase Beets BLU The Key Finder from Amazon for £18.95!

I also received a Beets Blu Pager Tag Bluetooth key finder to review. I was so glad that I received this as I am forever losing my car keys! The Pager Tag attaches to your bunch of car keys very easily and acts as a location monitor and alarm to help you find them.

The BeetsBlu Pager Tag allows you to track it via an app on your mobile phone. It can help you to track your valuables and detect where lost or forgotten items are. The Pager Tag will also alert you when your item is outside of a certain range, via sound and LED lights. It can track location, and it also has an alarm which can be triggered to sound from the Beets Blu app.

I was very impressed with the Beets Blu Pager Tag, and it is definitely something I can see myself using. You can also set it via your phone to trigger every time you enter and leave a location, and every time the pager tag is taken out of range. I have to say that the PagerTag is quite sensitive, so you do have to be careful what settings you use, or you may find that when the connection with devices is lost (i.e phone upstairs keys downstairs), the Pager Tag is sending notifications to your phone more often than needs be.  However, I found the Pager Tag really easy to install and pair with the app, which I downloaded, The app is also very intuitive to use.

Although you can only pair your key finder with one device, you can actually pair more than one key finder per device. I recently had my handbag stolen from the supermarket and I kicked myself for not having a tracking device in there. Now that we have this sort of technology available, I am definitely going to get another Pager Tag to keep in my handbag as the disruption was huge when my handbag went missing and a tracking device would have helped me to locate it. - See more at: http://www.justdoitmummy.co.uk/2015/03/review-beets-blu-heart-rate-monitor-and.html#sthash.mmvmnpIn.dpuf

  1. This is not something we have trouble with at the moment, but I'm sure it'll probably become an issue when our baby is a toddler and spots keys, lol. Although we usually have our keys tucked away in bags and pockets so I'm not sure. Sounds great for you though :).
