The Star Projector Sound Cube - A Review

We have never had a bad sleeper, Baby E was only up twice a night as a newborn and that decreased to sleeping through the night by 12 weeks - that was until we hit the 4 month regression! What a pain that is... no one ever warns you about that!

Fast forward to today and he is still such a great sleeper - sleeping from 7pm until 8:30am sometimes later. But recently with new teeth trying to make their way down he has been stirring. Not during the night, but mainly just after putting him down, so we have found a solution!
And it's in the shape of a Star Projector Sound Cube

This niffy little piece of equipment has helped us out a fair bit lately.
The Star Projector Sound Cube (£19.99)(*) plays relaxing lullabies and nature sounds with colour changing lights which projects star shapes onto the ceiling or wall.

We popped this into Baby E's room and turned it on, he was fascinated with the stars which light up his ceiling. I was worried he would get up and it would wake him up a little bit but I needn't have worried as he lay still and silent just watching the different colours above him. The colours are super crisp and slightly brighter than I'd have liked - but it's not like you're at Blackpool Illuminations, far from that.

The cube comes with a number of lullabies such as Hush Little Baby and Brahms Lullaby, not just that you get Nature sounds thrown in too - my personal favourite - these include Ocean Waves, Birds Chirps and Rain forests. These are so so calming, in fact I have brought this through to our sitting room and popped it on when blogging in the afternoon, it completely relaxes you, but just be careful not to have the Ocean Waves on too much as you will be up and down to the toilet! haha!

There are a number of settings on the cube, you can have the light show and no sound or simply just a sweet lullaby or Nature sound.

The great thing about this is that once set up with your light show and lullaby, the cube will automatically switch off after 15 minutes of playing. Something that is a big hit from our household! No need to sneak into Baby E's room and stand on that creaky floorboard or worse, the door squeaks on the way out!

We have popped this on most nights for Baby E and he now points at the Sound Cube if we haven't popped it on for him.

I feel he is sleeping so much better and goes down without a peep and is out for the count in a couple of minutes!

I just wish we had got this when Baby E was at his worst with sleeping as I'm certain The Star Projector Sound Cube would have worked wonders and gave me some of my sleep back that's for sure!

Overall we are all loving the Star Projector Sound Cube. It is so simply to use and we really like the different setting it has, we have had many a night where Daddy and I have sat with the stars projecting on the ceiling in our sitting room while watching the TV - there is something so calming about them!

  5. It's funny, we were given a similar thing — turtle that projects stars on to the ceiling for the twins when they were tiny — but they sleep best when the room is totally dark so the poor turtle has been made redundant!! Glad this works for you though! Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday x
