Daily Drinking Cups!

I really hope I'm not the only one when I say I have a cupboard full of baby sippy cups, bottles, tumblers, small cups, big cups, cups with handles, cups without handles... you name it we probably have it in our cupboard!

When I was sorting out Elliott drinking cups to take away with us I soon found out I had a slight drinking cup obsession!
I tend to give Elliott three different cups a day. One for the morning, one for throughout the day and another at bedtime.

I soon realised we favoured one brand out of all the other brands stored away in the cupboard, that brand being Munchkin.

We use the Miracle 360 Trainer Cup (£4.99)(*) in the morning, I'm not sure why to be honest.  Elliott took to it straight away but it was a bit bulky for my changing bag and I was worried it would open in the bag - it is completely leak proof and can be held upside down with zero leakage. This cup trains him to use an actual cup without spilling it. The clever 360 design means he can have a sip out of which ever angle he choose. He has used an adult cup and drank from it correctly with no spills and I definitely think this brilliant cup is to thank.

The cup we use throughout the day is the Click Lock Straw Cup (£4.99). This cup is one we bought about 6 months ago but sadly Elliott was just too young and didn't quite master the sucking ability so it was pushed to the side.  We revisited this up a couple of months ago now and he took to it like he had been using the cup since he was born - there was no stopping him! At first I think it was a game, he squeaked him teeth on the rubbery straw but now he drinks from it without a fuss. The flip top is ideal for travelling with no leakages! Elliott's not mastered the flip top but he brings the cup to me to be opened. We love this cup and I can see us using this for the foreseeable future. We love it!

Lastly, the cup we use at bedtime is the Sippy Cup (£4.99). When I switched Elliott off of formula to cows milk I wanted to get him off bottles, so I decided to bite the bullet and change his bottle to a sippy cup and change his formula to milk all in a oner. It was a success and he has never looked for a bottle once. I think the soft spout helps a lot along with the handles. I would definitely recommend this if you are going to do the switch from bedtime bottles to sippy cups!

These three are our absolute favourites so I am unsure why I have a cupboard overspilling with 364329846389 cups! I know that the three above will last us for years and I can't see us straying either!

Do you have a brand you prefer like us?

  1. We've never tried Munchkin cups, A has always taken well to the little Tommee Tippee cup, so though I briefly tried one with a straw (but it just seemed really difficult for him to get anything out) he's always gone back to that. It was a nightmare getting him to drink anything out of a cup at first though! 🙈 #mummymonday

    1. Thats the first drinking cup Elliott every had and he loved it, i ust ated that it wasnt spill proof! I totally agree with the straw though, i felt he didnt get enough out of it when we first gave him it, but i think he didnt quite master the sucking ability! Hopefully he takes to other cups soon! Thanks for commenting love x

  2. I've never tried a Munchkin cup either, Lizzy never used a bottle and went straight to using a Tommy tippee sippy cup at 6 months for one cup of formula a day. She still uses these for milk (she's almost 2 now!) and has the Tommy tippee no spill spout cups with the annoying valves, and a flip-lid straw bottle that broke and sqirts everywhere when you flip it open! I'm planning on getting a sports bottle for when we're out and about. #babybrainmonday

  5. We also have a cupboard full of cups of various shapes, sizes and colours for our two. Tommy Tippee seems to dominate. I don't think we've tried Munchkin yet. #FamilyTested
