Everyday Make Up!

I bearly have 5 minutes to myself in the mornings, with getting Baby E's breakfast ready, making sure he is not pulling down my ornaments, feeding the cat, getting Baby E changed, playing for about an hour then it's nap time... then it's time for some me time.

But for those days that I am heading out, I need a quick make up routine, one that take less the 5 minutes, and that's what I've done! So here is my simple and quick make up run through!

First of all I wash my face and put a little bit of moisturiser on, then I reach for my foundation. I never really stick to one brand of foundation, I like to mix them up but for now I am loving Rimmel's Perfect Match Foundation in the shade Ivory.
With a few pumps onto the back of my hand, I use a foundation brush and buff this into my skin. To be honest this is probably the longest time I spend with one product!

Once buffed in, I apply concealer under my eyes to wake me up a bit more and under my nose as I have redness there. I use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£3.99) in the shade Fair. I just use my fingers to blend this in.

With a big fluffy brush i set my make up in place with Maybelline Matte Maker Mattifing Powder (£3.99) - a compressed powder than makes the shiniest of foreheads mattified!

Now onto my brows, I use the HD Brow Kit in Vamp (£25) and use an angled brush to do soft wispy lines on my brows to make them look as natural as possible - I find if you use this technique they don't look coloured in!

I am loving the Color Tattoos Eye Shadow (£4.99) at the moment and they are so simple and easy to apply - especially if you are in a hurry! A sweep over the eyelid and you're done! I do use a little fluffy brush to blend outwards toward my brow bone.

Then I use the W7 Automatic Fine Liner (£2.95)(*). I have just recently found this, and have fallen in love with it, the fine nib is honestly the best one I have tried, and it won't break the bank that's for sure! With the precise nib this makes a 5 minute job a 1 minute job (If you have a steady hand!) I found that the staying power of the liner lasts all day - perfect for a mummy on the go!

Another W7 product I am loving just now is the mascara! Magic Eyes (£4.99)(*) is a brilliant mascara, I bought this on a whim as I ran out of one of my good ol' favourites, this makes your lashes look fuller and longer.  Everything a girl needs, right? I only need to apply one coat of this and it dries pretty darn quick so you can flick those eyelashes back and wont have have transfer!

Lastly I need something to make me look less like a ghost! Blusher! I am currently using the W7 Chunky Cheeks (£4.95)(*). I have never used a crayon like blusher before but this has 100% made my life a whole lot easier! One line down my cheek bone and blend with a brush and I'm done - and this will last the remainder of the day with no touch ups! I will definitely be heading out to purchase more that's for sure!

And that's it, a slick of lipstick and I'm done.
It literally takes me less than 5 minutes to go from bare faced to bright eyed and bushy tailed!

What is your make up routine? I'd love to know!

  1. I hear a lot of good things about the Perfect Match foundation; I have actually tried it myself but couldn't find a shade just right for me. I thought the formula was great but I have other foundations that suit my rather pale skin tone a lot better.

I'm so not brave enough to fill in my eyes. I feel like it is such a bold look and I'm not about the bold... Also, my eyebrows are quite dark and my hair quite light, naturally so, and that alone is somewhat of a 'bold' look. Haha!

I hear a lot of good stuff about the W7 range, need to check that out!

    1. Oh, its pretty difficult getting your perfect shade - the amount of bottles i have bough and cant use as they are too dark!

  2. Sounds fab! You can get a lot done in 5 mins! :) I am a concealer, powder, blusher, eyeshadow and mascara - kind of girl! If I'm going out in the evening I'll wear lipgloss but not day-to-day. I'm pretty good at making an effort and always have been although it is not easy with the twins about!!!!!! Thanks for sharing, Jess x

    1. Yes you can! Thats still a lot of make up to apply in such a short space of time! think we must be make up artists! ;)
I could imagine with twins you hardly get any time to yourself! Enjoy the 5 mins it takes to do your make up - prob the only 5 mins to yourself you get!

  3. Ah! I know all about those 5 mins and getting as much done in that time as is possible because it is the only time I have to myself! Haha!

Good on you though. You manage to cram quite a lot in. I can barely get my eyeliner & blusher done usually before I get called by one of the girls for something or another. Eyeshadow is a rarity and concealer is a luxury most days. Lol!
